Skill or Certificate: A story of how a BUK student is using his skills to create jobs while pursuing his certificate

If you are a fan of Made in Nigeria shoes, and bags, chances are that you came across a brand named Binno. Now you’re about to know the story of the young man behind the brand.

Bashir Badamasi was born in Kano state, Nigeria, about 34 years ago. From a young age, he was interested in the craft of shoe making and learned the trade from his parents. When he wasn’t in school, Bashir would spend his time learning the art of shoe making and honing his skills. As he grew older, he decided to turn his passion into a business, and Binno was born.

Binno is a shoe and bag-making business that specializes in handcrafted made in Nigeria shoes and bags. They produce a variety of products, including women’s shoes and bags and men’s shoes. Bashir’s team is small, but dedicated, with four members working alongside him. Despite being a sole proprietorship at the moment, Bashir and his team have big plans for the future and are looking to change the business to a partnership shortly.

In addition to the core shoe and bag-making business, Binno has recently expanded into the value chain by selling raw materials for shoes and bags. This has been Bashir’s greatest entrepreneurial achievement to date and he is proud of the growth and success of his business.

To continue growing as an entrepreneur, Bashir is always learning from others, including mentors, books, and even his mistakes and competitors. He believes that being an entrepreneur has turned him into a better person, as it has helped him to become more productive and focused on achieving his goals. Shortly, Bashir plans to start using the software ‘OnTrack’ to help make his work more effective and efficient.
